What should I expect when transitioning from a traditional saddle to a noseless seat like the VSEAT®?
Most riders indicates it takes 2–3 rides of about 20 minutes to find their “sweet spot” and adapt to the new ergonomic posture. During this break‑in period, adjustments may be needed to achieve ideal balance and comfort.
How do I know if I’ve installed the VSEAT® correctly?
Correct installation means the seat is level or slightly angled forward, securely clamped, and centered under your sit bones when riding. You should feel balanced without needing to lean forward excessively. VSEAT® provides installation guides for common bike types.
Can I use the VSEAT® for indoor cycling or on a Peloton bike?

BIKE SAFETY AND HEALTH
Can I ride/balance on the VSEAT® without hands?
Riding bikes without hands is not recommended because the hands provide an important point of contact for support and maneuvering while cycling.
The VSEAT®’s slip resistant material will provide you with reassurance until you have adjusted and gotten used to the design. Typically, it takes the rider 2-3 rides, at least 20 minutes each, to adjust to the VSEAT®. It is designed for the rider to put their weight on their “sit bones”. This naturally makes the rider “sit”, rather than straddle, with proper posture, which engages more muscular stability and balance.
How do I adjust the VSEAT® if I experience any persistent unusual contact or discomfort during my rides?
Please refer to our adjustment videos for tips on proper adjustment with the VSEAT®.
How can I personalize the VSEAT® to better fit my body type and riding style?
The VSEAT® is a one size fits all for the rider. Everyone has a sweet spot, and it can be found by trying the recommended adjustments. Different bikes and riding styles will require different set ups. Refer to our personalization videos for further information, or contact us directly if you are unsure.
How does the VSEAT® hold up in different weather conditions?
The VSEAT® is built from high quality materials, is highly durable and fully recyclable. It is UV and weather resistant, thus it can be left in the sun and won’t fade. It can also resist temperatures ranging from (-22°) to 284° Fahrenheit. The VSEAT® is water proof, and the rails are built with Stainless Steel to avoid rust corrosion.
How do I take care of my VSEAT® to ensure it lasts long?
The VSEAT® can be easily cleaned with soap and water. Wiping it down with some Armor All® will give it the new look everytime!
How is the VSEAT® different?
The revolutionary VSEAT® is a noseless and bumpless bicycle seat, which transfers the cyclist’s weight to the sit bones (ischial tuberosities), the proper weight bearing region of the body, thus liberating the genitals and the perineum (the outlet of the nerves and arteries that supply the genitals) from unwanted impact and damage.
How does the VSEAT® protect against numbness and chafing?
The VSEAT®’s noseless and bumpless design eliminates prolonged pressure on the nerves and arteries that supply the genitals and allows for unrestricted blood flow. This eliminates saddle related numbness, tingling and chafing in the crotch area.
The VSEAT® is designed to keep the groin area open and free.
Is VSEAT® recommended by medical professionals?
Because of its health benefits, the VSEAT® is recommended by medical professionals. Click here to see the video of the top thought leader in the area, and find out why Dr. Michael Eisenberg, (Board Certified in Urology, Director of Men’s Health
Professor of Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology Specializing in Sexual and Reproductive Medicine) recommends the VSEAT®.
How does a traditional bike seat impact health and comfort?
Health issues are caused because of too much time in the saddle (narrow, with a nose, cut out, or bump) from pressure on the perineal nerves and arteries which supply blood flow to the genitals. The distribution of weight to the perineum (mainly the pudendal nerves and arteries) is the main cause of loss of sensation and other severe problems associated with the traditional saddle. Men and women commonly experience numbness or tingling, or the feeling of the genitals falling asleep due to the constant nerve compression. In some cases, men have also experienced temporary, and prolonged erectile dysfunction due to the pressure on the pudendal nerves and arteries. For women the constant forward pelvic rotation leads to persistent pressure on the soft tissue, such as the clitoris and the labia, causing swelling and pain.
Prolonged use of a saddle with any obstruction or compression in the groin area, such as a saddle with a nose, nose with an opening, or a nose with a bump, can cause tremendous damage, sometimes permanent, to the soft tissue of the groin by compressing vital nerves and arteries restricting blood flow.
How does the VSEAT® improve my cycling posture?
The VSEAT® is designed for the rider to put their weight on their “sit bones.” This naturally makes the rider sit, rather than straddle, with better posture, which engages more muscular (core) stability and balance.
Are there any testimonials of users benefiting from VSEAT®?
Hundreds of testimonials can be found on the VSEAT® website and on social media about the experiences of customers who have chosen to change their cycling and improve their health with the VSEAT®.
How does the VSEAT® help prevent nerve compression and long-term circulation issues?
By eliminating the saddle nose and centering the weight on your sit bones, the VSEAT® helps to relieve pressure from the perineal nerves and arteries. This design works to maintain healthy blood flow and avoid nerve compression that traditional seats/saddles often cause. For more information, please see The Noseless Bicycle Seat: Considerations from a Health Perspective, featuring Dr. Michael Eisenberg.
How does the VSEAT® relieve pressure during long rides compared to traditional saddles?
The VSEAT® redistributes your weight onto the surface of the sit bones, freeing the sensitive perineum from sustained pressure. The goal is to effectively reduce numbness, chafing, and crotch pain typically experienced during extended cycling. For more information, please see The Noseless Bicycle Seat: Considerations from a Health Perspective, featuring Dr. Michael Eisenberg.
What types of physical conditions or past injuries make someone a good candidate for the VSEAT®?
While the list of conditions or injuries the VSEAT® can potentially help with is quite long, the VSEAT® has been successfully used by riders suffering from pudendal nerve inflammation, prostate issues, saddle sores, and genital desensitization.
How does the VSEAT® hold up under prolonged exposure to sun, heat, or UV rays?
Constructed with UV- and weather‑resistant materials, the VSEAT® maintains its appearance even when left in direct sun. It resists fading and warping in temperatures up to 284 °F (140 °C).
How does the VSEAT® perform in cold or freezing weather conditions?
The seat is rated to withstand temperatures as low as –22 °F, ensuring no cracking or material breakdown in winter riding conditions.
How should I store the VSEAT® to prevent damage from the elements when not riding?
Although built for outdoor resilience, storing it indoors or under cover prevents unnecessary UV exposure and keeps it free from dust and weather extremes. This helps preserve both appearance and material longevity. If you are storing it outside and you have also purchased the optional padded seat cover, it is recommended the seat cover be removed if storing for long periods/in inclement weather.
How often should I inspect or maintain the VSEAT® for long-term performance?
Check your VSEAT® periodically—especially after rough rides—for secure rail clamp alignment, tightness, and any signs of wear. A quarterly ‘tightness test’ / visual inspection should suffice for most riders, unless you notice there’s some new ‘give’ or movement that would warrant a more frequent review, but this is seldom mentioned by customers and has not been an issue flagged by rigorous internal testing. (may be under warranty, check site).
What kind of medical research supports the use of noseless bike seats like the VSEAT®?
Multiple scientific studies—from NIOSH, the Massachusetts Male Aging Study, and Norwegian cycling research—demonstrate a link between traditional saddles and genital numbness or erectile dysfunction. Noseless seats like VSEAT® preserve perineal blood flow by up to 80%. Plus, Dr. Eisenberg, a board-certified urologist, strongly recommends wide, flat, and noseless designs. For more information, please see The Noseless Bicycle Seat: Considerations from a Health Perspective, featuring Dr. Michael Eisenberg.
How can I hear from other cyclists who have switched to the VSEAT®?
Visit the product page to read dozens of real customer testimonials—covering pain relief, long ride comfort, prostate relief, and even recovery from nerve injuries like pudendal inflammation.
How can using the VSEAT® reduce soreness and recovery time after cycling?
By removing pressure from the perineum and distributing weight to the sit bones, the VSEAT® is designed to avoid chafing, numbness, and post-ride inflammation—helping you feel fresher and recover faster. Check rider reviews—many report being able to ride longer with less or no soreness.
How does the VSEAT® feel different from a regular bike seat the first time I try it?
The VSEAT® may feel unfamiliar at first because it removes the nose and shifts your balance. Instead of straddling a saddle, you sit fully supported on your sit bones. Most users adapt after 2–3 short rides and report increased comfort and control.
Can I use padded shorts or seat covers with the VSEAT®?
Yes. While the VSEAT® is designed to eliminate the need for extra padding, some riders prefer added cushioning. That’s why VSEAT Corp. offers a custom padded seat cover that fits perfectly and adds an extra layer of comfort without interfering with the seat’s ergonomic benefits. Padded shorts are optional but likely not necessary for most riders, with or without the seat cover.
Can I stand up while pedaling with the VSEAT® installed?
Yes. The VSEAT® does not interfere with standing on your pedals for climbs or sprints, and even often simplifies mouting/dismounting your bike. Its compact form factor gives you full clearance to ride dynamically.
How does the VSEAT® affect bike handling or balance?
The VSEAT® does not affect steering or balance negatively. Some riders report improved control, especially during stops or turns, because there’s less pressure forcing them forward on the saddle.
Can the VSEAT® help me ride longer distances more comfortably?
Yes. Many riders report significantly increased endurance on longer rides due to the lack of perineal pressure. The noseless design helps reduce the soreness and numbness that usually builds over time with traditional saddles.
Is the VSEAT® approved for road racing or competitive cycling events?
The VSEAT® is legal to use in many competitive formats, though some racing organizations may have specific saddle requirements. If you compete, check with your event rules before installing.
Can I use the VSEAT® if I have erectile dysfunction (ED) or pelvic floor concerns?
The VSEAT® is specifically designed to reduce pressure on areas linked to ED and pelvic discomfort. It promotes blood flow and avoids pressure on the perineum, which many experts cite as a contributing factor in cycling-related ED. For more information, please see The Noseless Bicycle Seat: Considerations from a Health Perspective, featuring Dr. Michael Eisenberg.
How does the VSEAT® compare to split-nose or cut-out saddles?
Unlike saddles with a central cut-out or split nose, the VSEAT® removes the nose entirely. This not only reduces contact with soft tissue, it eliminates it altogether. Many riders find this a more complete solution for pain and pressure relief. For more information, please see The Noseless Bicycle Seat: Considerations from a Health Perspective, featuring Dr. Michael Eisenberg.
If the VSEAT® is comfortable, why is there a padded cover?
The VSEAT® shifts the weight form the crotch to the sit bones. This shift relieves the rider from pressure on the nerves, arteries, and soft tissue in the crotch area that causes pain and many other problems. The padded cover provides the VSEAT® with extra padding for those who want a softer ride on their sit bones. For most, the padded cover also replaces the need for padded bike shorts.
Is the VSEAT® for men/women?
The VSEAT is for any adult who has a crotch 🙂
Is the VSEAT® for kids?
Sit bone measurements change through growth and are stable once someone reaches their adult size. The current VSEAT® is designed for adults.
How is the VSEAT® different/better than other noseless bike seats?
The VSEAT® is the only viable noseless and bumpless bicycle seat on the market today. It is superior in design, function, and quality when compared to other bicycle seats. The best way to know if the VSEAT® lives up to its reputation is to “sit on it” and try it for yourself.
